House of Representatives Minority whip , Hon .Samson Osagie of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) has lost his bid to represent Edo South Senatorial District at the Upper House of the National Assembly .
He was defeated by the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) candidate, Matthew Urhoghide who emerged winner after polling 139, 784 votes as against 117, 759 garnered by the APC candidate . The election was inconclusive in Orhionmwon and few wards in some local government on March 28 th .
Announcing the results of the rescheduled election in Benin City on Sunday evening, the Senatorial returning officer for the poll, Prof. Joseph Erunosa Osemwenkhae said : “ having satisfied the requirements of The law and scored the highest number of votes Matthew Urhoghide of the PDP is hereby returned .
