Students of the Lagos State University, Ojo, have called on the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, to ensure that the reversal in their tuition is sustained.
The students, who spoke through the Ambode-Adebule Youth Forum, said this while canvassing support for him in Lagos.
The Coordinator of the group, Mr.Olawale Ogungbon, said Ambode had promised not to hike their school fees if elected governor.
Ogungbon, who is a student of LASU, said the candidate had also invited students to sign a memorandum of understanding with him.
“About three weeks ago, we had an interactive session with the All Progressives Congress Vice-Presidential Candidates, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo. Also present where we deliberated on the need for a continuous total reversal in our school fees were Ambode and his deputy, Oluranti Adebule. No fewer than 300 students were there and he told us clearly that there was no basis to increase our school fees.
“He also assured us that students should come together and sign a memorandum of understanding with him that if he emerges as the governor of the state, he will never increase the school fees,” said Olugbon.
According to the Deputy coordinator of the group, Mr. Olaniyi Awesu, the forum comprises students of the Michael Otedola College of Education, Epe; Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin as well as the Lagos State Polytechnic and LASU.
